A Texas-licensed aesthetician since 2012, former spa owner, and the R&D behind the brand, Zhamida Delreys opened her aesthetics practice in Houston in 2013, where she integrated laser treatments with skincare products for nearly a decade.
Over the years, she kept seeing the same pattern. Most professional skincare lines were built around more actives, botanical complexity, and treatment-driven formulas, but not around the needs of barrier-impaired, reactive skin.
Having struggled with eczema and psoriasis, she reached a point where she couldn't tolerate even the most "gentle" skincare. Her focus expanded beyond topical skincare to explore how nutrition, systemic inflammation, metabolic health, and lifestyle factors influence the skin from within.
Following the COVID pandemic, her focus shifted from a full-time treatment room schedule to cosmetic research and manufacturing—an evolution that coincided with becoming a mother and allowed her to devote more time to family and the expansion of Beleza by Z.
That journey deepened her study of corneotherapy and biochemistry, ultimately leading to the development of professional-grade formulations incorporating purified beef tallow into a lipid delivery system inspired by the skin's natural lipid composition.
