A Texas-licensed aesthetician since 2012, former spa owner, and the R&D behind the brand, I opened my aesthetics practice in Houston in 2013, where I integrated laser treatments with skincare products for nearly a decade.
In the years following the COVID pandemic, I shifted my focus from a full-time treatment room schedule to cosmetic research and manufacturing—an evolution that coincided with becoming a mother and allowed me to devote more time to both family and the expansion of Beleza by Z.
Over the years, I kept seeing the same pattern. Most professional skincare lines were built around more actives, botanical complexity, and treatment-driven formulas—but not around the needs of barrier-impaired, reactive skin, which is where a large percentage of real clients actually live.
My interest in barrier repair wasn't theoretical. I struggled with eczema and psoriasis and reached a point where I couldn't tolerate even the most "gentle" skincare, including many of the products I was retailing in my clinic.
Around that time, I became increasingly interested in the intersection of nutrition and skin biology. My focus expanded beyond topical skincare to a broader exploration of how systemic inflammation, metabolic health, and lifestyle factors influence the skin from within.
That journey deepened my study of corneotherapy and biochemistry and ultimately led to the development of professional-grade formulations that incorporate purified beef tallow into a lipid delivery system inspired by the skin's natural lipid composition.
Barrier-impaired skin does not need more stimulation. It needs structural support, and that alignment defines our formulations.
BioLipid Skin Science™
At the center of every formula is our BioLipid Skin Science™ method, derived from suet tallow, rendered and purified to bring tallow into a professional spa setting with modern precision and craftsmanship. These bio-identical lipids closely mirror the composition of human sebum, helping reinforce barrier function, reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL), and support skin recovery without the artificial slip of silicone, oxidation-prone seed oils, or the risk of sensitization from essential oils—common triggers for congestion, breakouts, and irritation.
